SOUTH AMERICAN QUALITY PRIZE 2009

The 17th Edition of the South American Quality Prize 2009 took place in the Intercontinental Hotel in Rio de Janeiro on 17 and 18 July and it was promoted and organized by ABIQUA – Brazilian Association of Quality Incentive, the event gathered the best companies and educational institutions in Latin America.

Business Round

The business round took place in the opening of the event and representatives of participating companies showed their activities and exchanged information about their businesses creating a network of interaction and search for excellence and quality in the services rendered.

“This Business Round was developed by ABIQUA to ensure that participants have the opportunity to show their potentials, forming new partnerships in the search for more businesses. It is very positive for all participants”, says ABIQUA’s President Antonio José Neto Ladeira.

During the Business Round new directors of ABIQUA took office. Professor and General Principal of Carlos Gomes School in Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Barbosa de Oliveira, President of Panamerican Institute of Excellence in Education; Silvano de Barros Beserra, new director of INPESQUE – Institute of Market and Opinion Research and Mário César Roberto, who took office as Bank of Opportunity Assistant.

Scholarships

To boost integration among education institutions associated with ABIQUA and launch the Scholarship Project, a lancheon was offered for schools and universities in an iniciative of the Directory of Educational Forum.

Gala Cerimony

During the Gala Cerimony public and private insitutions received the Incentive Trophy acknowledging their work with quality and innovation in different fields. The 17th South American Quality Prize had the presence of authorities of many sectors of the Latin American economy besides the consuls of Bolivia and Equator.

Sapiens  Prize

Next the Sapiens Prize was delivered paying tribute in this edition to Dr. Valentin Sosa Lora, Rector of Post Graduation School of Mexico City and students of Carlos Gomes School, Carlos Felipe Lopes and Juliana Roberta de Lima.

“ABIQUA Quality” Program

So as to register the event and interview winners of this 17th edition the journalism staff of Rede Amigos da Cultura were present. Representatives of companies were intereviewed, as well as education institutions, ABIQUA’s directors and guests who will later become part of ABIQUA Quality Program which is broadcasted on Tuesdays at 9pm (Brasilia time) at www.redeamigosdacultura.com, one more communication channel of the Brazilian Association of Quality Incentive with the world.
